Today sees the exhibition opening of the Brit Insurance Designs of the Year at the Design Museum. There’s some excellent work in there. My picks are the great TBWA/Hunt/Lascaris, South Africa for The Zimbabwean Newspaper – Trillion Dollar Campaign, Zimbabwe – for its ability to mix social statement in a media campaign, and the just brilliant BBC – BBC iPlayer, UK – for revolutionising the way, when and where we consume entertainment. Who’s your winner?…

Is it right to go to a museum just to ‘experience’ their interactive displays? Well, (sorry) but a recent trip to Stoke-on-Trent was wholly inspires by AllofUs great work for The Wedgwood Museum. Having a great history in installations, I didn’t think I’d be disappointed, and I wasn’t, I had a smashing time (excuse the pun!!). I even though the history was interesting. Just the interactives alone are well worth the trip – oh careful!

A touching experience

I’ve mentioned Razorfish – Emerging Experiences before, but thought it was well worth another visit to see how their digital world is shaping up. My findings were pretty striking…

It’s pace has been phenomenal, and it’s impact monumental. Digital is now the new reality. And the reality is this digital world is taking over.

Digital experiences have always been the domain of the office or the home. PC’s and game stations have, until now, been the guardians of such experiences. But this control of the digital platform is starting to wane. Digital is finding its wings, breaking free from its traditional tethers, and entering spaces once the reserved of the humble human… (more…)

This is an amazing new app – the Audi A4 Car Configurator by Neue Digitale / Razorfish in collaboration with Realtime Technology AG. It’s been showcased at this year’s IAA – the world’s leading automotive fair. It’s beautiful, and shows just how far we’re getting with the immersion of humans and technology. Is this the future?
