CLAESSON KOIVISTO RUNE is a multi-disciplinary architectural and design firm based in Stockholm.
They’ve created some stunning work over the years – check out their site. This piece – LUNA, just made me stop and wonder, what would that be like? They say on their site – Is it a piece of furniture? Is it a small house? Is it an upholstered playground for grown-ups? I’m imagining is a little of all three! But mainly, like all their works, I think it’s an aesthetically stunning, exploration into ergonomic and visual harmony.
On their site they talk about the only things that are important to them are to develop, improve and never repeat. This ethos perfectly matches their creative output, having designed an extraordinary range of experiences, from buildings and interiors to amazing tea light holders and USB flash drives.
If great design is the discovery of beauty in form and function CKR are masters.
