Jeroen Hofman has create an interesting set of images for the advertising campaign ‘Sneeze’ – a project for 180 Amsterdam (I think!). Certainly a striking collection of shots, from a photographer who can only be described as having an eclectic mix of subject matter. Great stuff.

'S' is for something a little special

I love Specialized, so I’m always interested to see how people translate the brand into a visual story. Venture Visuals have done a great job with its stills and motion work. Getting the passion and quality of the S-Works range stop on.

hope for a Brand new future

On 7 December 2009 leaders from 192 countries will gather at the UN Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen, Denmark to determine the fate of our planet. Leading up to this event Ogilvy began working with the United Nations and the International Advertising Association to create ‘Hopenhagen‘, a platform for citizens of the world to connect to their governments and world leaders to help decide our collective future.

One critical event. One uniting idea. One driving platform. One inspiring brand. Lets all hope together that the leaders of the world act as one and truly deliver their promise.

Recently I took a trip to Spain. Partially to recharge with a little early winter sunshine, an idea I’ve always though would set me up for a good Christmas, and partially as my wife and I had some business to attend to in Alicante.

So, on a last minute deal, we set off, through howling winds and pissing rain, through the clamour of the boarding queue of a certain orange cheap airline, to the sunshine and relative peace of the Hospes Amérigo.

Now, the Hospes Amérigo is a beautiful, boutique 5* hotel in the heart of the city. Converted from an old convent, the architecture and interior design oozes style, sophistication and quality.

I think it was just after our glass of fresh soothing lemonade, handed to us by the smart, efficient receptionist as we checked in, that we headed up to our room, deposited our luggage, and continued up to the rooftop terrace spa to purge ourselves of the mornings miles, that I started to ponder…

…Just how did I get here? (more…)

I’ve profiled Academy‘s work not so long ago, and they’ve come good yet again, this great site for Nike’s Jordan M6 takes you on a journey from design to store. Great brand alignment, and a great site.

How many creatives are there in the room?

November 11, 2009

“How come everyone’s suddenly a creative when they’re asked to select a design solution?”

The perennial designers question asked after almost every doomed client presentation, and one that was offered up to me again recently by a, some what disheartened, friend of mine.

This got me thinking, not in the usual reactive “don’t you know I’ve studied design theory…” way, but in a transcendental way, a way that could get to the nub of the answer.

So my thinking started with people… (more…)
